Tlingit Tribe

Talking about native american tribes with my girlfriend, I found out she was of Tlingit descent and her grandfather is actually 100% Tlingit. The Tlingit are in the United States and in Canada. It is very hard to define their land because they're are little reservations and their people tend to move around alot.  They are a coastal tribe and depend on the ocean for most of their food. Although they are not entirely dependent on the ocean, they also gather/hunt food from the forests.

  1. I think Paco is Tlingit, you could talk to him next time he is on campus. I think of the Tlingit in Alaska, yet you are more correct in that they moved along the coast, US/Canadian borders were not even in effect until the past 200 years.

  2. Yea I definetly will talk to him, if I get a chance. I wasn't in class for his presentation so I didn't get to meet them. It was really hard finding information on them on the internet. It's strange how some tribes mantain a bigger popularity than others.
