chapter 1

This boy is probably the most ugly thing I can imagine. Its also extremely sad that he gets so belittled and hackled that he has to resort to hiding inside. I cant imagine somebody living life like this. He may have had a normal life if he wasn't poor and living on an Indian reservation. But he is, and even in the first paragraph his exposed to a sort of racism.

    I think you are talking about our book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian. Why do you think he (Junior?) is "ugly"?

    Junior is described as a big footed, big handed skinny Indian. With huge black rimmed glass and an irregular amount of teeth. I guess sort of thing is up to the imagination and ugly is more of an opinion. But the way I imagined him was very ugly.
